Member support

How we support our member practices

Our member support is shaped around the needs of practices, from introducing new technology and improving services to helping teams navigate new pathways and ways of working. These are some examples of how we work alongside members to provide practical support, strengthen delivery and improve care for patients.

Digital technology implementation

TympaHealth is a digital ear and hearing care solution that supports ear examinations, hearing assessments and ear wax removal in community and primary care settings.

Procare is working with local partners to explore the introduction of TympaHealth technology across member practices, subject to final agreement with the ICB. Our role is to support implementation, training and the development of new ways of working, with the aim of delivering the service at scale on behalf of practices and reducing the operational impact on practice teams.

This would support more care closer to home, improve patient access and help reduce avoidable referrals to secondary care services. In the meantime, practices can continue to offer ear wax microsuction services through the Local Commissioned Service, ensuring patients can access timely ear care within primary care settings.

EPR system transformation

Medicus is an enterprise resource planning technology being introduced through an ICB-led transformation programme. It provides a shared digital platform for managing key processes, information and workflows across primary care.

Procare represents and supports member practices through the change, helping them understand what the technology means for their teams, what they need to do to prepare and how it will affect day-to-day working. We also help ensure that new processes support safe and effective working across organisational boundaries.

Funding and Bid Development

We work with member practices, Primary Care Networks and system partners to identify, secure and deliver additional funding opportunities that support local healthcare priorities and improve patient access.

We provide end-to-end support for bid development, including identifying funding opportunities, coordinating stakeholder input, preparing business cases and submitting funding applications. This helps ensure bids are aligned to local needs and supported by robust operational and financial planning.

This work has delivered successful outcomes across a range of programmes, including securing Winter Access Funding for three consecutive years. These investments have enabled practices to offer additional appointments and capacity during periods of increased demand, improving access for patients and supporting primary care resilience throughout the winter months.

By combining strategic planning, programme management and operational delivery, Procare helps practices and PCNs maximise opportunities to attract investment and translate funding into meaningful benefits for patients and local communities.

Integrated Neighbourhood Team

The Integrated Neighbourhood Team brings together health, care and community services to provide coordinated support for people with complex or changing needs who may not be well served by a single service or pathway.

Procare works with member practices and system partners to deliver and develop the INT model across our communities, helping patients access more joined-up, proactive care. The service supports coordination around the individual and their needs, reducing duplication and helping patients receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.

We continue to work with partners to refine pathways, strengthen collaboration between services and practices, and use feedback to improve the experience for both patients and healthcare professionals.

Service review and improvement

Heim’s Lab is a digital solution that supports community nursing teams working remotely and independently. It enables staff to check in and out of visits, providing greater visibility of their whereabouts and helping to support safe working in the community.

Procare works with Heim’s Lab to support workforce safety, service delivery and operational improvement across community nursing. Alongside lone working functionality, the platform provides insight into how services are being delivered, helping teams identify opportunities to improve processes, workforce development and patient care.

Workforce, Recruitment and Payroll Services

We provide workforce management support for member practices and Primary Care Networks, from recruitment and onboarding through to employment and payroll.

Working collaboratively with practices and PCNs, we can advertise and recruit staff, manage pre-employment checks, support onboarding, employ staff where appropriate and provide payroll services. This gives practices access to practical workforce support while reducing the operational and administrative burden on local teams.

By bringing recruitment, HR and payroll expertise together, Procare helps practices and PCNs strengthen workforce capacity, support sustainable primary care services and focus more time on delivering high-quality care for patients.
